Ms. Marvel Leaves MCU Fans Excited and Wanting More
Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) are ecstatic once again, as the series Ms. Marvel appears on Disney+.
Marvel goes a step further in their journey toward inclusion by introducing its first Muslim superhero. Kamala Khan initially appeared in the Captain Marvel comic and eventually got her own comic book series.
Ms. Marvel stars Canadian and Pakistani actress Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan. Kamala is an average New York teenager who aspires to become a superhero. Her character goes through typical teenage events, like taking a driver’s test, getting bullied at school, and disagreeing with her parents. Kamala has an active imagination, and in her spare time enjoys doing illustrations of the Avengers, most often Captain Marvel. When her parents won’t allow her to go to Avengercon, she goes behind their back while wearing the best Captain Marvel costume she can fashion.
While waiting for the Captain Marvel cosplay at Avengercon, Kamala discovers that she has powers of her own. A mysterious heirloom that she added to her costume awakens her powers for everyone to see. She quickly goes from a typical teenager struggling with acceptance amongst her peers to a powerful superhero.
Disney+’s official premise for the show states, “Ms. Marvel is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination— particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?”
The launch of Ms. Marvel is one of the most talked-about topics on Twitter. MCU fans are raving about the release, and everyone is looking forward to future films for the new superhero.

Fans can also expect to see appearances from Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larson, as well as another division of S.H.I.E.L.D. Marvel’s latest renewal of the teen superhero trend will most likely not disappoint.
Kamala is also expected to return as Ms. Marvel in the upcoming MCU film The Marvels. At Glitter we’re proud to see diversity in film and TV, and Ms. Marvel is no exception. Check out a trailer for the new Marvel series below.
