Elton John and Britney Spears’ New Duet ‘Hold Me Closer’ Is Coming
Sir Elton John and Britney Spears are joining forces. The singers will be releasing their upcoming duet, “Hold Me Closer.”
On August 8, Elton John took to Instagram to share a collaboration with none other than the princess of pop, Britney Spears. The “Crocodile Rock” singer uploaded an image that contains the song’s title and two emojis representing the duo: a rocket and a rose.
A rocket is a symbol that is synonymous with the British singer. He is famously known as “Rocketman” and has a song of the same name that was released in 1972. In addition to the popular track, the biographical musical drama, Rocketman, was released in 2019. Taron Egerton (Blackbird) embodied the iconic musician.
Spears’ rose symbol is also fitting. The singer posted several stunning photos with the flower and even has her own secret project titled “Project Rose.” Many fans have speculated that Project Rose has to do with her freedom after her 13-year-long conservatorship ended in November 2021.
John has found major success with remixing his hit songs. In August 2021, he joined forces with Dua Lipa to create “Cold Heart,” a mash-up that includes his hit songs “Rocket Man” and “Sacrifice.” The duet was an instant hit and certified pop excellence.
“Hold Me Closer” will serve as Spears’ musical comeback. The singer has not released music since Glory, her ninth studio album released in 2016.
Here at Glitter, we cannot be more excited to hear this upcoming duet between such iconic musicians. Fans can follow both Elton John and Britney Spears on Instagram for the latest music updates.
