Demi Lovato Debuts New Song ’29’
Demi Lovato has released another personal song. The “Confident” singer released the track “29” ahead of her eighth studio album, Holy Fvck, out on August 19.
In an interview with Zane Lowe, Lovato discussed the pressure involved in releasing the track. The singer stated, “I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a ton of anxiety about putting out this song. I just said, ‘I have to go for this. I have to own my truth.”
Lovato, who is 29, remained mum on the meaning behind “29.” The singer’s track is said to be a diss track about their ex-boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama. When asked to confirm these rumors, the singer replied, “I’m very careful with the way that I answer these questions because I feel like the song says it all.”
Lovato adds that “29” is “a record about the wisdom that comes with age.”
“29” is the third single off Holy Fvck, following previous releases “Skin of My Teeth” and “Substance.” Each track showcases the singer’s angst and punk edginess loved by fans of the 90s and early 2000s. Lovato is no longer just a pop star; she is a bona fide rock star.
The “Anyone” singer has a special message for fans that have followed their music. Lovato declares, “To my Lovatics who have been rocking out with me since the beginning and those who are just now coming along for the ride, thank you. This record is for you.”
Here at Glitter, we cannot be more excited for a new Demi Lovato era. Holy Fvck arrives on August 19. Fans can stream the singer’s music on all major platforms.
