Brandi Carlile and Allison Russell Collaborate on New Song ‘You’re Not Alone’
Allison Russell and Brandi Carlile have joined forces to create the powerful track, “You’re Not Alone.” The track initially appeared on Russell’s debut record, Songs of Our Native Daughters and has now been revamped with this recent collaboration.
On August 18, Allison Russell took to Instagram to share her latest collaboration. The “Nightflyer” singer posts that, “Every child deserves to be loved and protected. Our families with LGBTQIA+ parents are just as precious. No one should be forced into the sacred role of parenthood against their will. Human Rights are worth fighting for. We’ve come a long way but we must go farther still.”
Russell’s voice effortlessly blends with her duet partner, Brandi Carlile. The singer describes Carlile as her chosen family. She declared on social media “Thank you for inspiring me every day, for elevating everything, for leading the way.”
Carlile echoes her friend’s sentiments as she recounts the time Russell proposed the idea of working together. She reveals that she “couldn’t say yes fast enough.” Russell serves as one of the opening acts on Carlile’s “Beyond These Silent Days” Tour in support of her seventh studio album, In These Silent Days. Her tour includes Brittany Spencer, Celisse, Tanya Tucker, Katie Pruitt, The Indigo Girls, Lucius, Lake Street Drive, and Yola.
