New Rom-Com Upgraded Will Star Camila Mendes and Archie Renaux
Camila Mendes and Archie Renaux are teaming up for Gulfstream Pictures’ upcoming romantic comedy, Upgraded. Christine Lenig, Justin Matthews, and Luke Roberts penned the film with Carlson Young directing.
On August 18, Renaux teased his collaboration with Mendes, writing, “Lotta fun coming.” According to the press release, Upgraded follows an “aspiring art intern Ana (Mendes) who is invited on a last-minute work trip to London by her brilliant but intimidating super boss, meeting the handsome and wealthy William (Renaux) on the plane. Set in both London and New York City, the rom-com chronicles the trials and tribulations of balancing work, romance, and following your dreams.”
Gulfstream Pictures’ Karz and Bindley state, “We are thrilled to be working with the enormously talented Camila Mendes, Carlson Young, and Archie Renaux, as they pull back the curtain on the art world in this fun and engaging romantic comedy.”

Camila Mendes, a Brazilian-American actress, is most notably known for her role as Veronica Lodge on the hit teen drama series Riverdale. Recently, she joined Rudy Mancuso in his rom-com, Música, which promises to be an authentic Brazilian-American story about love, family, and Brazilian culture. Mendes is executive producing both Música and Upgraded.
In addition to her upcoming rom-coms, her film, Do Revenge, in which she stars opposite of Maya Hawke, hits Netflix on September 16. Do Revenge is described as a “subverted Hitchcock-ian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls.”
Archie Renaux is a British actor most notably known for his role in the Netflix series, Shadow and Bone. He can also be found in Morbius, Voyagers, and Gold Digger.
