Solange Knowles Makes History With Breakthrough Original Ballet Score
Solange Knowles adds another accomplishment to her name with the announcement of her original score composed for the New York City Ballet. The widely admired multi-talented celebrity took to Twitter and Instagram on August 16 to share this fascinating feat.
This unreleased score will feature alongside choreography from Gianna Reisen, who, according to Forbes, became New York City Ballet’s youngest choreographer in 2017. Reisen is excited to create another work in collaboration with the Company. With the upcoming ballet premiere, Reisen plans to create a piece that is different from her notable work from the 2017 Gala, “Composer’s Holiday.”
The recital will premiere at the 2022 Fall Fashion Gala. Knowles’ anticipated debut will feature costume designs by Alejandro Goméz Paloma. Solange also revealed on her social media that it would be performed by the City Ballet Orchestra and a soloist from her ensemble.
