As reported by The New York Times, the jury determined the Sheriff and Fire Department didn’t have proper training and policies to prevent this situation. Bryant’s Lawyer Luis Li stated, “there has been a long-standing practice among deputies of sharing death images for no legitimate reasons.”
The 11-day trial took place at the Los Angeles federal court. When the jurors finally read that the verdict was in Bryant’s favor, she was overcome with emotion and left the courthouse.
Bryant took to instagram to celebrate the emotional win. She posted a photo of her with her husband and Gianna, writing, “All for you! I love you! JUSTICE for Kobe and Gigi!”
