TXT Releases Japanese Version of Latest Comeback ‘Good Boy Gone Bad’
On August 30, K-pop boy group TXT, Tomorrow X Together, released the Japanese music video for their last Korean comeback, “Good Boy Gone Bad.” Their May mini-album was highly anticipated after The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT or ESCAPE, which came out in August of the previous year. Fans were surprised to see the parallels between the group’s past music videos and their newest one, but in addition to the remake of their title track, they also dropped a pre-released song called “Ring” on August 24.
The five-member group consists of Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai. They kicked off the U.S. branch of their first official World Tour in July and are preparing to embark on their next journey, which will take place throughout Asia. Since their debut in 2019 with the hit song “Crown,” the boys have accumulated a large fanbase and massive acclaim among all fourth-generation K-pop. Before the latest EP, Tomorrow X Together had come out with their first full Japanese album Chaotic Wonderland.
In this music video, many loose ends from “LO$ER=LO♡ER” come together, notably its cliffhanger scene. Much of the imagery during this era implies that the events in their storyline were all a part of Yeonjun’s imagination. This time, however, it seems as though the event was real, changing the trajectory of the preconceived theory.
Of course, those who have listened and tuned in with the initial release of “Good Boy Gone Bad” are aware that the song’s message is based on their love pursuits in previous comebacks. The interweaving storyline is fun to unravel, but now there is a clear path from the events in “LO$ER=LO♡ER” to the present. Furthermore, each of their relationships, which seemed so perfect back then, is now beginning to crumble; and the boys choose to abandon love altogether in the process. They are now truly good boys gone bad.
The music video is a perfect follow-up to the events in their earlier timeline and has given MOAs (the group’s fandom name) proper closure. It opens up the doors to unique and bright concepts for the future now that they have fully embraced a dark musical theme. Watch Tomorrow X Together’s music video below, and keep up with their Instagram and Twitter accounts for any future updates.
