Ted Lasso Sparks a New Dating Experience With Bantr Live
Are you a hopeless romantic looking for love? Look no further than the free Ted Lasso-inspired dating experience, Bantr Live, curated by Bumble.
If you are familiar with the Emmy award-winning comedy Ted Lasso, Bantr is a fictional in-universe dating app created by model-turned-PR consultant Keely Jones. Bumble released a new feature on their dating app called Bantr Live. Much like how Bantr is portrayed in the series, users on Bantr Live will be anonymous with no photographs.
This live experience allows users to be randomly paired with anonymous matches. Users will have the chance to chat for three minutes. If the pair is still interested after the time limit, they will appear in each other’s matches and can continue getting to know one another. Bantr Live gives users a chance to focus on personality rather than appearance.

In addition, Bantr Live proves to be an excellent marketing tool for the series. When users are paired on Bantr Live, they know they’re chatting with a Ted Lasso fan. Knowing this detail can help users start conversations and increase the series’ viewership.
The Bantr app is an integral plot device in the series. Fans who watched Ted Lasso know that the app has sparked an unexpected romance between Rebecca Welton, the owner of AFC Richmond, and Sam Obisanya, a soccer player of the Richmond team.
Because users are anonymous on the app, Welton had no idea she was speaking to a colleague from the soccer team she manages. While at first uncomfortable at the reveal, due to her status as an employer and age difference, Sam persuaded Rebecca to stay for their dinner date. As a result, both realized their chemistry was undeniable.
Since Keely’s Bantr app was a success for Welton’s romantic pursuits, what’s to say it won’t work with real-life audiences?

Bumble invites users to follow Ted Lasso’s motto, “Be Curious, Not Judgemental.” If you’re tired of using photos to choose potential matches, Bumble’s new feature, Bantr Live, has the chance to enhance your love life in surprising ways. This unique experience will be available from October 13 until the end of the year, every Thursday at 7 p.m. local time. Users will be invited to Bantr Live weekly to meet with potential matches anonymously. In addition to possibly finding your true love, Bumble also stated that users can “redeem a free two-month trial to Apple TV+.”

In honor of the series, Apple TV+ also partnered with FIFA 23 to give gamers access to play as Ted Lasso’s AFC Richmond team. Not only will players be able to choose characters from the squad, such as Jamie Tartt and Roy Kent, but they can also select Ted Lasso as a playable manager.
Despite these exciting brand deals, fans of the hit series are anxious to know when the next season of Ted Lasso will be released. The new season was supposed to be released last summer. However, due to the script’s constant rewrites, the official date has been pushed back. Nevertheless, it has been confirmed by Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) that season 3 of Ted Lasso will be the series’ final season. As much as audiences hate to see the heartwarming series come to an end, fans are excited to see where the AFC Richmond team will go in their storyline.
