Taylor Swift Teases Lyrics of Her New Midnights Album Worldwide
Taylor Swift reveals new details on social media about what inspired her new album, Midnights. The lyrics for her upcoming tracks are being released worldwide.
Taylor Swift has been leaving hints about her new album, Midnights, all over social media for the past few weeks, and now her lyrics are being posted worldwide. Spotify released a statement earlier this week talking about their collaboration with the pop icon. Spotify explained, “We’re here to help build the excitement. Spotify is revealing lyrics from Taylor’s album on different billboards around the world.”
However, the billboards will not share the lyrics until midnight in each of the area’s specific time zone. In addition, Spotify will provide unique lyric teaser videos to hype the album’s launch. Swift has also been sharing clips with those who have pre-ordered her album.
The first billboards were revealed on October 17 in New York City and London once the clock struck midnight.

The most recent billboard was released in Nashville, Tennessee, and Brazil.

Swift first spoke about the Midnights album while accepting her Best Longform Video award for her famous “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” music video. In her acceptance speech, Taylor announced, “I had sort of made up my mind that, if you were going to be this generous and give us this, I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand new album comes out October 21.”
The crowd went crazy after hearing the news. Swift also thanked her loyal fans, stating “You guys, I’m just so proud of what we made, and I know with every second of this moment, we wouldn’t have been able to make this short film if it wasn’t for you, the fans. Because I wouldn’t be able to re-record my albums if it weren’t for you… You emboldened me to do that.”
Taylor followed up on her VMA award acceptance with a post on Instagram commenting, “Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight.” Fans posted comments circling their excitement.
The second photo on Taylor’s Instagram post describes the inspiration behind the album. Taylor’s album is inspired by many sleepless nights, pacing up and down her floors trying to make peace with her demons. She wants everyone to relate this album to the feeling of tossing and turning in bed searching for an answer – “hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve…we’ll meet ourselves.”

“Lavender Haze” is the first song in the album. After watching Mad Men, Taylor stumbled upon the phrase and looked up its meaning. She found that “Lavender Haze” was a common phrase used in the ’50s to help describe what it felt like to fall in love. Swift described the track’s title as an “all-encompassing love glow.”
She also reveals her excitement about her collaboration with Lana Del Rey on track four, “Snow on the Beach.” The song is about two lovers falling in love at the same time. Swift is honored and grateful to be working with Lana on this song. According to Swift, Lana Del Rey is considered one of the best musical artists in history.
The singer-songwriter has also posted a series of episodes on her TikTok called “Mightnighs Mayhem with Me,” where she unveils the names of her tracks on the upcoming album. These videos have received millions of views within the past few weeks.
