Selena Gomez is laying it all out on the line in her new documentary My Mind and Me. The singer/actress has been known to advocate for mental health with different initiatives like Mental Health 101 and the Rare Impact Fund, so in this documentary, there is nothing off-limits, including some of her most challenging performances.

One of these performances includes her 2019 American Music Awards performance, in which she sang “Lose You to Love Me” and “Look At Her Now.” Unfortunately, compared to her other performances like 2015’s “Same Old Love” and 2017’s “Wolves,” critics and fans agree that this was not her best.

However, Gomez is now opening up about what led up to that night. In a new ten-second teaser from Apple TV+, she is seen in a doctor’s office and mentions her nervousness about the performance. Gomez states, “I hadn’t been on stage in over two years, and I still didn’t know if I was ready. But what good is having a song if I was too scared to sing it?”

Fans immediately knew which performance she was referring to and are ready to put the rumors to rest.

My Mind and Me spans a six-year period when Gomez reaches new heights in her career until mental and physical health struggles take over. As mentioned by Gomez in the initial trailer, “My Mind & Me. We don’t get along sometimes, and it gets hard to breathe… But I wouldn’t change my life.”

My Mind and Me premieres on November 4, only on Apple TV+, and one day before the premiere, check out Selena Gomez’s new song, “My Mind and Me.”
