Harry Styles Sets New Voter Registration Record With HeadCount
Harry Styles has set a voter registration record with HeadCount. The musician partnered with HeadCount’s “Good to Vote” initiative to get voters registered for the U.S. midterm elections.
HeadCount is an organization that partners with artists to encourage young people to vote. Their mission statement reads: “We reach young people and music fans where they already are – at concerts and online – to inform and empower.” Other artists who have partnered with HeadCount include Ariana Grande, Jay-Z, Lizzo, and more.
Styles launched a sweepstake with the political advocacy site in September. From September 13 to October 12, contestants could register to vote to try and win tickets to “Harryween,” the singer’s concert on Halloween.
Winners could earn two flights to Los Angeles for the show at the Kia Center, a two-night hotel stay, and two-floor concert tickets. The lucky voters will also win two Harry Styles posters and two merchandise packs.
The “As it Was” singer is in the middle of his fifteen-night residency at the Kia Center. He has previously performed extended shows for his famous “Love on Tour” in New York City and Austin, Texas. All tickets were widely sold, “Harryween” being one of the most coveted performances.
According to Billboard, Styles’ initiative with HeadCount registered over 54,000 voters. The contest also set a record for most registrations in 24 hours, garnering 28,760 voters.
