Lindsay Lohan Talks Past Projects and Exciting New Endeavors
The early ‘2000s are back in full force, and Lindsay Lohan’s return to the spotlight is the icing on the cake. Her new holiday film Falling for Christmas just dropped on Netflix, and she doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon; the actress sat down with Cosmopolitan to talk about her past work and what she has planned for the future.
Lohan’s return to acting is a full-on dive into the deep end as she is both the star and executive producer of Falling for Christmas. This means Lohan had a hand in all aspects of the film, from casting to editing to costumes and post-production. Lohan recalls seeing the Falling for Christmas script for the first time and feeling “comfort.”
She stated, “It was really comforting to me, when I got the script, to see a movie that was a rom-com because it’s always fun to work on something lighthearted and family-oriented that makes people happy and provides a bit of an escape.”
Moving forward, Lohan has two more projects with Netflix as both an actress and producer with Irish Wish, a romantic comedy with a supernatural element coming next.
From Mean Girls, Freaky Friday, The Parent Trap, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and many more, Lohan is a comedy staple, but she doesn’t rest on her laurels. She mentions that her acting is “always evolving. It comes very naturally to me to play a role, especially in a romantic comedy, so it doesn’t always feel like work. But when you really look at the character and how much more you can give people onscreen through the character’s eyes, there’s so much to play with and change.”

Aside from her iconic acting roles, Lohan has had a few standout career moments that she holds near, like her hosting gigs on Saturday Night Live and the MTV Movie Awards. Lohan stated, “I think when you’re in it, it doesn’t hit you. And I never thought I would say this, but as you get older in life, you look back on those things, and you’re like, ‘Did I really do that? Oh my gosh, I really did all that stuff,’ which is a really cool feeling in the end. And I’m the kind of person that now wants to do it again but ten times better.”

Speaking of “ten times better,” looking toward the future, Lohan has several endeavors she wants to pursue, like “Different awards. SNL again, obviously. And roles that I haven’t been able to play. I haven’t done an action film. I really want to do something like that. There are other things I can’t say. They’re on my vision board.”
Falling for Christmas is out now, only on Netflix and her extensive film catalog is available on several streaming platforms. Check out Lindsay Lohan’s full feature on Cosmopolitan.
