Beyoncé Ties Jay-Z for Most Grammy Nominations of All Time
Nominations for the 2023 Grammy Awards are officially released. With her nine nominations this year, Beyoncé is tied with her husband, Jay-Z, for most Grammy nominations of all time. Both artists have received 88 nominations in their music careers.
Beyoncé’s nominations include Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Dance/Electronic Recording, Best Dance/Electronic Music Album, Best R&B Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, and Best Song Written For Visual Media.
This year is the first time the “Break My Soul,” artist has received nominations in the Electronic Music category. Her seventh studio album, Renaissance, was released on July 29. Most of the nominations are for the recent album or its songs, except for “Be Alive,” a single featured in the film King Richard, which received one nomination for Best Song Written For Visual Media.

Beyoncé’s new Grammy nomination total includes her discography from Destiny’s Child. Since her first wins in 2001 for Best R&B song and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, Beyoncé has won 27 more Grammys. She is the most-awarded female artist in Grammy’s history.
The title for most Grammy wins of all time is currently held by the classical artist, Georg Solti, with 31. This means that if Beyoncé wins three more Grammy’s she will tie this record, and if she wins four, she will take the title for the most Grammys won.
Jay-Z has 24 wins and is up for five Grammys at the 2023 awards. The rapper’s nominations are for his work on Renaissance and DJ Khaled’s album, God Did. His nominations include Album of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and two nominations for Song of the Year.
Fans expressed their support for Beyoncé on social media quickly after the nominations were announced. Many praised her for her impact on the awards and appreciated her legacy.
