The Cast of Netflix’s New Series Wednesday Talks Standout Moments of Season One
She’s creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky; she’s Wednesday Addams, who is seeing much success on Netflix. The new Netflix series, Wednesday, hit the queue less than a week ago and is already a fan favorite. Wednesday broke the record for the most hours viewed in a single week for an English-language series, at 341.23 million hours.
The series follows Wednesday as she navigates her journey as a new student at Nevermore Academy, while using her psychic abilities to investigate a series of murders. Following the series’ success, fans are already waiting on Netflix’s announcement for a second and maybe even third season. Until then, fans have indulged in several cast reaction videos which uncovered some interesting behind-the-scenes details.
One reason Wednesday has been a smashing success is due to the talents of the lead actress, Jenna Ortega, who has made some unique choices. After doing a scene without consciously blinking, Tim burton directed Ortega to stop blinking during her scenes.

In an interview with Today, Ortega stated, “[Tim Burton] likes when I tilt my chin down and look through my eyebrows, kind of like a Kubrick stare, and then I relax all the muscles in my face.” Though Ortega mentioned that the order got “pretty annoying,” it was a choice well worth it.
Another standout moment from this season is the dance break which has gone viral since the series release. Dressed in a beautiful yet semi-formal black dress, Ortega flails her body around to “Goo Goo Muck” by The Cramps in true Wednesday Addams fashion.

While reacting to the scene, Ortega stated, “I actually felt really insecure about this. I choreographed that myself, and I think it’s very obvious that I’m not a dancer or choreographer.” Nobody would ever be able to tell, including Ortega’s costars, as they recalled the scene as one of their favorites and were impressed by her moves.
Given the record-breaking success, it’s safe to say that Wednesday will remain iconic whether it’s picked up or not. If you haven’t got in on the action yet, check out season 1 of Wednesday, only on Netflix.
