If you have not seen or read Matilda, it is about an extraordinary and intelligent girl named Matilda, who has very unpleasant and neglectful parents. When she goes to school for the very first time, she finds consolation in her teacher named Miss Honey, who sees Matilda’s intelligence. However the headmistress of the primary school, Miss Trunchball hates and abuses the children. Matilda, with all her mighty power, is determined to get rid of Miss Trunchball once and for all.
Alisha Weir (Darklands) will star as Matilda. One of the best actresses of her generation, Emma Thompson (Cruella), will be playing the nasty Miss Trunchbull. The lovely Lashana Lynch (No Time to Die) will be starring as Miss Honey. Matilda’s cruel parents will be portrayed by Andrea Riseborough (Amsterdam) and Stephen Graham (Peaky Blinders).
