Kate Hudson Teases New Debut Album
Kate Hudson has music on her mind. The Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery actress revealed she will release her debut album in 2023.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Hudson revealed important news: She has been working on a record for the last year. Although coming as a shock to fans, writing songs is something the Almost Famous actress has done for a while, but only recently decided to make it public.
She expressed, “I’ve been making a record for, like, a year. You know, I had this thing at COVID — every time you’re doing interviews, people are like, ‘Do you have any regrets?’ I go, ‘I’m early 40s. Like, not yet.’ But during COVID, I was like, you know, what am I doing?'”
The actress is no stranger to making music. Hudson continued, “I actually write — I’ve been writing music since I was 19. And, like, I’ve never shared it. And so, I just thought, that would be one of my great regrets. Like, I have no expectations. I just want to put a record out, and so I’m doing it.”
At age 19, the year she revealed she began writing music, also happened to be the same time she starred in Almost Famous (2000). Her breakout role as Penny Lane included many memorable moments, such as the “Tiny Dancer” bus scene.

In addition to Almost Famous, many witnessed Hudson’s brilliance as Andie Anderson in the romantic comedy, How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days (2003). Apart from her incredible chemistry with Matthew McConaughey, many fondly remember her iconic performance of Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain.”
Congratulations to Kate Hudson on breaking into the music industry. We cannot wait to hear what she has made in 2023. Fans can watch the actress in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which will be streaming on Netflix globally on December 23.
