Latin sensation Bad Bunny is making his rounds around the industry. First, he will enter the Marvel universe in 2024 as El Muerto. But now, it was announced that he would serve as an executive producer for the new Netflix series, They Both Die At The End.

The Un Verano Sin Ti singer is joined by Bridgerton’s EP/showrunner, Chris Van Dusen, who will serve as the series creator. Coming soon, the series is based on the 2017 No.1 New York Times Best Selling Young Adult novel, They Both Die At The End, written by Adam Silvera.

The novel portrays the story of Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio, two random people whose lives change instantly when they’re visited by Death-Cast on September 5 and are told that it is their last day on earth. On their “End Day,” they both look to make one last friend and end up connecting on an app aptly titled “Last Friend.”

After connecting, the two plan to have one last adventure and live a life within a day. It’s pretty clear what happens after that.

Based on social media reactions and a recent resurgence in book sales, it is evident that the series already has a strong fanbase. The book went back to No.1 on the New York Times Best Seller list in 2021 after going viral on “BookTok” and sparking new interest, becoming the best-selling YA novel of 2021. More importantly, the book made history as the first YA novel to reach these accolades with queer, Latinx main characters.

There is no word yet on casting decisions or a release date, which means you have enough time to grab a copy of They Both Die At The End before watching the series.
