Kali Uchis Announces New Album Red Moon in Venus
Kali Uchis is back with her first song of the new year. The “See You Again” singer returned with the track “I Wish You Roses.”
After gifting fans a stunning flowery visual to “I Wish You Roses” on Thursday, Kali Uchis announced that her record, Red Moon in Venus, will be coming out on March 3. The music video directed by Cho Gi-Seok features explosions of color and plenty of flowers.
Uchis revealed, “This song is about being able to release people with love. It could be a friend, a lover, or someone else, but the point is to celebrate releasing people from your life without being resentful or bitter.”
Red Moon in Venus is described as a blend of “soul, R&B, pop, música urbana, and more experimental textures.” The project is fueled by love. She expresses, “Red Moon in Venus is a timeless, burning expression of desire, heartbreak, faith, and honesty, reflecting the divine femininity of the moon and Venus.”
She elaborates more on the importance of the Moon and Venus’ compatibility, stating, “The moon and Venus work together to make key aspects of love and domestic life work well. This body of work represents all levels of love—releasing people with love, drawing love into your life, and self-love. It’s believed by many astrologers that the blood moon can send your emotions into a spin, and that’s what I felt represented this body of work best.”
After announcing the exciting news of a new record, Uchis will also be embarking on a North American tour supporting the project.
Congratulations to Kali Uchis on a stunning single. Red Moon in Venus will undoubtedly be an incredible record. “I Wish You Roses” is available to stream on all major music platforms.
