In Forbes’ annual list of top-10 highest-paid entertainers, Taylor Swift was named the highest-paid female entertainer in 2022 with a whopping $92 million.

Swift was the only female entertainer on the list, ranking in 9th place, behind Genesis, Sting, and other male entertainers. According to Forbes, the majority of the singer/songwriter’s earnings came from physical record sales, streaming platforms, digital downloads, licensing, and syncs.

In 2022, Swift released her tenth studio album, Midnights, which garnered huge critical and commercial success. In its debut week, the album topped the U.S Billboard 200 album chart and sold more than 1.5 million equivalent album units- making it the first album since Swift’s own Reputation (2017) to sell over 1 million units in its first week. With the album, Swift also became the first artist to occupy all top-10 spots on the Billboard Hot 100. With all of this success, it is no wonder why Midnights was the top-selling album of 2022.

Forbes suggests “an even bigger 2023” for Swift. The “Anti-Hero” songstress is set to kick off The Eras Tour this March. The demand for the tour was so high that Ticketmaster crashed on November 15 of last year, immediately after presale commenced. 2.4 million tickets were still sold that day, breaking the all-time record for the most concert tickets sold by a single artist in one day. From the U.S. leg of the tour alone, Swift is predicted to earn $620 million. While the international legs of the tour have not been announced, Swift’s official website advises fans that “INTERNATIONAL DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED.”

This news comes just a week after Swift’s recent big win at the Grammy Awards, where she took home the award for Best Music Video for her “All Too Well” short film.

While we cannot be entirely sure that Swift will be the highest-paid female entertainer this year, it would certainly not be a surprise.
