Kaley Cuoco Opens Up On Pregnancy In New Interview

Star of the upcoming show Based On A True Story Kaley Cuoco has confidently announced she has “no plan” for pregnancy – which is exactly how she wants it.

Kaley Cuoco, known for her role as Penny in The Big Bang Theory, announced her pregnancy with actor Tom Pelphrey of Ozark in an Instagram post last October.

At over 4 months pregnant, Cuoco told in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight that she is “not a prepper.” On the topic of pregnancy books, she claims to have “read zero,” and that her approach to parenthood is the same as her approach to any other part of life: “[trusting] the process.”

In an age where the constant ads for wellness, self-care, and self-help can be overwhelming, Cuoco’s approach is surprisingly refreshing. Cuoco comments that she thinks “nowadays we get so caught up, right? We didn’t even have all this stuff at our fingertips and now it’s almost too much.”

Cuoco’s faith in herself, her baby, and her husband seem to be the guiding force in her pregnancy thus far, and she doesn’t plan on changing that – or plan on anything, for that matter. She plans on listening to her baby first and foremost and letting parenthood be a learning experience.

While her approach to parenthood may be different from other expecting mamas, the love she has for her daughter isn’t. Every post on the actress’ Instagram since December has featured her baby bump as she shamelessly shows it off. She expresses gratitude in nearly every post, describing how she feels “blessed” and “over the moon” to be a mom.

She’s been showing off her baby bump more as her due date draws nearer. Pictures from this year’s Golden Globes capture a radiant Cuoco looking fabulous, chic, and pregnant in a Vera Wang gown.

Cuoco even had writers of Based On A True Story rewrite her character once she found out she was pregnant – something that shocked her and excited her. She described the process of filming her character as “interesting,” and even stated that her pregnancy was “the best part about it.”

Although Cuoco may have a non-traditional view on parenthood, her love, and excitement for her daughter seem like preparation enough for its arrival. Catch Based On A True Story on Peacock, and stay tuned for the announcement of its premiere date.
