Austin Butler revealed his hidden talent in a video for Vanity Fair. The actor was a part of their 29th annual Hollywood Issue among twelve other stars.
Austin Butler has been in the public eye ever since he was a young actor, with roles on the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. This year, the star has had an immense blow-up with his role as Elvis in Baz Luhrmann’s biopic Elvis. Butler received a nomination for Best Actor at this year’s Oscars. The overall film is up for eight awards.
In light of this, Butler was chosen to be a part of Vanity Fair’s Hollywood Issue. Butler is front and center on the cover alongside stars such as Florence Pugh, Jonathan Majors, and Selena Gomez. In one of these videos, Butler shows off his party trick — folding a simple yet elegant paper rose. Before starting, Butler informs viewers that he learned the trick from the “cool guy” at his older sister’s high school.
He even gives the audience a behind-the-scenes story of Elvis, detailing how, in a diner scene, he made a rose for his co-star. Unfortunately, that moment did not make it into the movie’s final cut. Butler shared that doing something with his hands helped him take his mind off of himself.
Butler admits that he racked his brain for a party trick before deciding to share his rose-making skills, noting it as being “pretty handy.” He then goes on to explain the versatile nature of the skill, being a good gift for a crush or just a loved one in general. Fans can’t help but show their love for Austin and his adorably dreamy skill. From his softspoken demeanor to the delicacy of folding the flower, fans are even more in love with the actor.
