John Wick Week Kicks off With New Posters

The fourth installation of the John Wick franchise is almost upon us, and with that comes the unveiling of all-new character posters. Last week also saw the release of John Wick: Chapter 4‘s official final trailer before coming to theaters on March 24.

John Wick: Chapter 4 will follow hitman John Wick as he attempts to defeat the High Table, an age-old criminal organization. The High Table has served as Wick’s primary adversary throughout the franchise. This fourth installment is gearing up to be Wick’s deadliest adventure yet. With non-stop gunfire, car chases, and brutal hand-to-hand combat, get ready to watch Wick try to take down the world’s most dangerous criminal overlords once and for all.

Chapter 3’s Cliffhanger

Let’s recap. John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum featured Wick fighting for his life after being marked excommunicado by the High Table. The film begins at The Continental Hotel, considered neutral ground by the criminal underworld. Wick calls in various favors throughout the film, eventually being told that to receive the protection of another criminal organization, he’ll have to kill an old friend, Winston.

Wick subsequently returns to the Hotel, where Winston convinces him to choose his own path. This decision results in prolonged fighting throughout the Hotel, culminating with Wick meeting Winston and the High Table on the roof. Winston betrays Wick, shooting him multiple times in the chest. Wick then falls from the building and is briefly presumed dead. Though the High Table soon realizes his body is missing, and the hunt begins. Meanwhile, the Bowery King (the head of yet another secret organization) rescues a severely injured Wick. Together, they agree to team up to end the High Table for good.

Chapter 4 will begin shortly after this alliance.

New Additions to the John Wick Franchise

This edition of the John Wick series will significantly expand its cast of characters. such as the Marquis de Gramot, portrayed by Bill Skarsgård. Skarsgård spoke with TotalFilm last month, discussing his character’s motivations. “The Marquis is a young man of unknown origin who has quickly climbed the ladder within the High Table doing God knows what,” he stated. “He functions as the new sheriff set out to rid the world of John Wick once and for all.” Though Wick is no stranger to bad guys, the Marquis is sure to bring an extra dash of cold-blooded evil to the table (pun intended).

Prior to the release of the final trailer, Lionsgate shared eleven character posters featuring Chapter 4‘s main cast. The elaborate posters highlight characters centered against intricate backgrounds representing their roles in the film. We see Keanu Reeves, Bill Skarsgård, Rina Sawayama, and more making appearances. Rina Sawayama — a singer-songwriter and model — will be making her acting debut as Akira.
