Ley Line Entertainment and FirstGen Content have assembled an all-star cast for the adaptation of On Swift Horses. Sasha Calle, Diego Calva, Jacob Elordi, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Will Poulter are set to star with Daniel Minahan directing the film.

On Swift Horses will be based on the novel of the same name by Shannon Pufahl. The story follows newlyweds Muriel and Lee who are beginning a bright new life when he returns from the Korean War. Their chance at stability is tested after Lee’s charismatic younger brother, Julius, a wayward gambler, arrives on the scene.

Consequently, a love triangle quickly ensues, and the three plan to start a new life together in California. Their shot at having the American Dream is upended when Julius suddenly disappears and heads for Las Vegas. Muriel decides to embark on her own secret life, gambling on racehorses and discovering a love she never thought possible.

Babylon actor, Diego Calva, had nothing but praise for Elordi. He expressed, “It was so cool to work with him. He’s obsessed with photography, he’s obsessed with old plays. He loves Tennessee Williams, he loves Chekhov. He’s not the guy you maybe think he is. He’s such a cool actor. He’s just amazing. I feel very proud.”

Calva teased a bit about what fans can expect with his latest project. He added, “I don’t know if I can say this but we are going to have pretty hot scenes in this movie…You have to wait. But I think it will be a pretty cool movie.”

The Babylon star is already set to star in Dreamer and A Ciegas. He is also on board to join the Mexico City-based television series, Midnight Family. Elordi is slated to appear in the television series The Narrow Road to the Deep North and the Sofia Coppola project, Priscilla.

On Swift Horses is on its way to becoming a highly anticipated film. Be sure to grab a copy of Shannon Pufahl’s novel at select bookstores.
