Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Premier Date, Trailer, and More
Netflix is releasing Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, a spin-off of the Bridgerton we know and love, on May 4.
Shondaland is gifting us a Bridgerton story that is unlike the rest. The series will follow the life of Queen Charlotte, giving us everything from how she ascended the throne to the story of her win-win marriage. We finally get to see how the queen we have grown to love in the original Bridgerton series came to be.
On Valentine’s Day, the Bridgerton Twitter account released a teaser trailer for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

This different perspective of the Bridgerton world will not be completely new to us. Fan favorites, such as Lady Danbury and Lady Violet Bridgerton, to name a few, are sharing the screen with Queen Charlotte.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is going to provide a lot more context for what we see in the Bridgerton lives years later. The spin-off “will deepen and enrich people’s understanding of who they are,” states Adjoa Andoh, who plays Lady Danbury, to Shondaland. “When you watch a narrative in Bridgerton now, you will get the motivation.”
Bridgerton fans all around the world are looking forward to watching Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Watching the original series, we can quite literally only imagine how Queen Charlotte came to be and what her life looked like in the past.

Within this influx of announcements, we now know that the next Queen’s Ball will be held in New York City. Making its way to the East Coast, more people will be able to “step back in time” and have a night filled with lavish experiences.
And there’s one more surprise. As you may know, the original Bridgerton television series is based on a book series. But now the tables are turning. Shonda Rhimes and Julia Quinn are pairing up to create the Queen Charlotte novel.
Watch the official teaser for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story below, and tune into Netflix on May 4 to see the life of a young woman turned queen.
