Selena Gomez Has a Heartfelt Reunion With Old Disney Co-Stars
Selena Gomez had us all feeling nostalgic as she shared a heartfelt conversation with her former Wizards of Waverly Place co-stars, Jennifer Stone and David DeLuise.
Gomez appeared via video call on Stone and DeLuise’s new podcast, Wizards of Waverly Pod, on Monday, February 27. The former cast mates shared an emotional conversation as they discussed their experiences on the hit Disney series. As Stone and DeLuise asked their questions, Gomez spoke candidly about her life both during the series and after it ended.
In this episode, DeLuise asked Gomez what she felt her biggest mistake in life was. Gomez responded to the question by stating, “Probably not staying in touch with you guys… I think I slowly became, like, kind of shamed. I felt ashamed of the decisions that I made, and I didn’t want you guys to see me in the state that I was in.” As Stone and DeLuise listened, Gomez continued, “Because A, you would have told me the truth, which terrifies me, and B, I didn’t want to let you down.”
The three former Disney stars shared several other heartfelt moments, one of which had both DeLuise and Gomez tearing up. When reflecting on their relationship, Gomez stated, “I know that you guys love me for me… You guys genuinely loved me and that’s all that I could ask for, the unconditional trust and bond we had I miss so much.”
On a lighter note, Gomez told her former co-stars that the years she spent on the Wizards of Waverly Place set were some of the happiest times in her life. She spoke fondly of her experience while working on the series, explaining, “It was definitely the happiest times for me and I recognize that, obviously, it’s because I have this different attention on me that I just didn’t have then, and that was a really pure time.”
This surprise reunion, which is the fourth episode of the new podcast, had everyone feeling nostalgic. Fans, along with Stone and DeLuise, showed overwhelming support for Gomez after the episode aired. In fact, on the Wizards of Waverly Pod Instagram, the two hosts expressed their gratitude and pride for her vulnerability and strength.
Additionally, many people were excited to see stars from one of their favorite childhood series reunited so many years later.
