Season 4 of Strong Dark Comedy Barry Will Be Its Last, First Teaser and Poster Drop
It is time for the death of Barry. Season four of the successful hitman dramedy will premiere on April 16. Fans have known for a while that season four was coming. However, there was a recent announcement of the date and that this would be the last season. The ending was the producers’ decision. That should make sure that Barry ends on a high note.
Starring, written by, and directed by Bill Hader, Barry premiered in 2018 on HBO. This dark comedy centers around Barry Berkman, a veteran who becomes a hitman. When Barry goes to Los Angeles to kill an actor, he gets swept up in the acting industry.
He decides to turn over a new leaf and take some acting classes, but he cannot just give up his old life. Joined by a thrilling cast of characters from the criminal and acting worlds, Barry’s most dangerous mission may be letting his past go.

The first teaser for the final season dropped on March 7. It is only a minute long but sets up an intense last season. Set to “After The Lights Go Out” by the Walker Brothers, the teaser shows Barry dealing with the aftermath of the previous season. He is now in prison and hallucinates people from his past. In addition, the teaser includes phone conversations between Barry and his former mentor Gene (Henry Winkler), and who knows where that could go. It seems, at this point, anything can happen.

The first poster for the final season came out the same day as the teaser. The tagline for this season is “The Arresting Final Act.” It shows a sliver of Barry in what looks to be a prison door. While the previous seasons’ posters show Barry front and center, this one keeps him hidden. Could this be alluding to something secretive or sinister?

Bill Hader easily has the most interesting post-SNL career out of the 2005 batch. A utility voice guy for Disney, co-creating Documentary Now, the It sequel and now 4 seasons of a show he directed. This man just has it in him. pic.twitter.com/zxSwyy6SA6

Hader got his big break as a sketch comedian on Saturday Night Live. While Barry has comedic elements, the series has allowed audiences to take Hader more seriously. People now know what he is capable of, both in front of and behind the camera. If the final season can live up to the hype, this series could leave its mark on television history.
