Miley Cyrus Teases Upcoming New Single ‘River’ Coming Soon
Miley Cyrus recently revealed she will drop a new music video this March 10 for her new single “River.”
On March 7, the megastar took to Twitter and uploaded a moody teaser video for the upcoming song. In the black-and-white, hazy video, Cyrus swayed in front of the cover while the song’s instrumental played. Various clips of Cyrus moving were cut together, and the video ended with the song title being shown. While lyrics were not heard, a guitar and keyboard could be heard. The caption post read, “RIVER. MUSIC VIDEO. FRIDAY.”

The teaser only adds to the album’s already immense hype. Endless Summer Vacation will be the performer’s eighth studio album. The artist’s previous album, Plastic Hearts (2020), was critically and commercially acclaimed, with many considering it her best work thus far. Her promotional cycle for her upcoming album, however, has been so successful that it could perhaps succeed her previous work. The singer/songwriter released the lead single “Flowers” earlier this year to incredible success.
The disco-pop and funk-inspired song gave Cyrus her second Billboard Hot 100 number one, her first and last being “Wrecking Ball” in 2013. The song helped Cyrus break a string of musical and streaming records. This past February, she broke the Spotify record for the most monthly listeners for a female artist: 84 million. Furthermore, the song became the most streamed song in a week during its first and second weeks of streaming.
The promotional material for the album has been ramping up in the previous weeks. On February 27, the Grammy-nominated performer unveiled the official tracklist in another teaser video. The album will include 12 tracks, including features from Brandi Carlile and Sia.

On March 3, Cyrus officially released the demo version of her hit single “Flowers” and announced her return to Disney. To celebrate the release of her album, she collaborated with Disney to film the ENDLESS SUMMER VACATION (BACKYARD SESSIONS). The infamous Backyard Sessions are a recurring musical special Cyrus uses to promote her albums. In them, she and her band perform various songs from her new album outdoors.

With all the recent success and hype, Endless Summer Vacation could be Cyrus’ best musical era yet. Over two decades into her career, Cyrus proved she will always be a force to be reckoned with.
