The film has been critically acclaimed not only for its cinematic visuals but for bringing underrepresented groups in Hollywood to the spotlight. In the role of Evelyn Wang, Michelle Yeoh is the first Southeast Asian actress to win an Academy Award for Best Female Actor in a Leading Role.
After winning an Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Ke Huy Quan brought himself and the audience to tears. “My journey started on a boat,” stated Quan, “I spent a year in a refugee camp, and somehow, I ended up here on Hollywood’s biggest stage.”
Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan, aka Daniels, proved their amazing directing skills in the film. The duo is known for their comedy sci-fi action stories, and Everything Everywhere All at Once exhibits this perfectly. Daniels directed and wrote the film, bringing their multi-faceted talents into one motion picture. This project was only their second full-length film, and it is now A24’s highest-grossing movie.
Everything Everywhere All at Once is deserving of its continuous recognition around the world. The film is not only changing the cinematic world but is creating history around the importance of diversity.
