During the broadcast live Stream On event in Los Angeles last week, Spotify released an update for a re-designed home feed. They announced new development features for creators to build a universal audience and chart pathways to reach success.
The new and dynamic interface was designed with the intention for deeper discovery and meaningful connections between artists and fans. It allows for fans to sample audio for new podcasts, books, and artists to encourage easier discovery.
“The world today pulls us in a million different directions,” Co-President and Chief Product & Technology Officer Gustav Söderström stated. “So the most important thing we, at Spotify, can do for creators is to reduce the distance between their art and the people who love it . . . or who would love it as soon as they discovered it.”
You can also scroll up or down to explore short Canvas clips from tracks from some of your favorite genres, then easily save the song to a playlist, follow the artist, or share it with friends all from one place. You can also preview tracks on playlists like Discover Weekly, Release Radar, New Music Friday, and RapCaviar.
Another personalized feature is the AI DJ Spotify released a couple of weeks ago. This AI knows your listening history and curates selections with short talking points in between. The new addition was very well-received in the Spotify community and had a high retention rate.
All of these features and more are available on Spotify now.
