Swarm is Donald Glover and Janine Nabers’ newest project. The series follows Dominque Fishback, who stars as Dre, a woman obsessed with an in-universe pop star similar to Beyoncé. Though the trailers have a dark tone, Nabers likened the series to her and Glover’s previous project, Atlanta. Atlanta was highly praised and ended not long ago, making fans excited for their newest endeavor.

Adding to the excitement is Billie Eilish, who recently appeared in a short teaser released by Prime Video and Swarm.

Eilish adds to the eerie tone of the series with her creepy, soft-spoken performance. While this is her first acting role, her potential is obvious. “Have you hurt someone?” she asks Dre, who responds with a quiet “Yes.” “Very good,” Eilish responds with a sharp smile.

Of course, it’s no surprise that Eilish could master a chilling role. She is no stranger to the weird and dark. From swallowing a spider to crying black tears, she’s never been afraid of disturbing audiences. She even cited the horror film The Babadook as inspiration for her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Horror has always influenced Eilish, and it most likely won’t stop any time soon.

However, this isn’t the first brush with the film and TV industry the singer has had. She worked with director and effects artist Michael Chaves on the music video for Bury a Friend. Chaves has recently directed the most recent film in The Conjuring franchise. Additionally, The Academy invited her to join the membership following her Oscar win for Best Original Song for No Time to Die.

However, Eilish is not the only musician involved in the series. Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, teased a new song in previews of the series. The song is a collaboration between Gambino and musicians Ni’Jah and Kirby. Not only that, but Chlöe Bailey of Chlöe x Halle will also star alongside Fishback. Bailey spoke out on the series, emphasizing that it is ultimately about Dre “processing her trauma” and “mental health.”

Swarm could mark the first in a long line of acting credits for Eilish. Already, she has enticed thousands of viewers with just a few unforgettably creepy lines. Audiences can stream Swarm on Prime Video on March 17.
