The Eras Tour is in support of all of Swift’s albums, and the tour goes through her entire career from her debut in 2006 with Taylor Swift until now. Since her last tour, she released the album Lover in 2019, Folklore and Evermore in 2020, and Midnights in 2022. She also re-recorded the albums Fearless and Red in 2021.
In a particular part of the show, after playing the song “Tim McGraw” from her debut album, Swift dives headfirst into the stage as a transition into the “Midnights” act of the show. It is a projection of Swift “swimming” under the stage and eventually reveals her ending up on the other side. An explanation for this trick states that “1. A panel in the stage opens up 2. She dives when the light turns green 3. A pre recorded video plays showing her “swimming” underneath the stage. 4. She reappears for the midnights era 13/10 transition.”
Each show on Taylor’s tour lasts for 3 hours plus, covering 44 songs and is grouped into 10 acts. The tour has received acclaim thus far from fans and critics alike. Ticketmaster received controversy and outrage over ticketing for the show, initially which had them met with criticism over pricing and availability. The website notably crashed when the presale started on November 15. Despite this, over 2.4 million tickets were sold that day, which is a new record for the most concert tickets sold by an artist in a single day.
