Brandi Carlile has been announced as a speaker for the NAMM Convention in Anaheim, California. The event will run from Thursday-Saturday.
The NAMM Show is the biggest annual conference for musicians worldwide that are able to experience the latest products from across music, sound, and event technology. For those that aspire to have a career in music, this is an essential show to attend.
Many names in the music industry will attend. Brandi Carlile is one of many who will be interviewed on Thursday about the “insights she has gleaned into record production over her career.” The “Stay Gentle” singer’s session, “Brandi Carlile on Producing and Uncovering the Artist in the Studio,” will be held from 1-1:50 p.m.

The press release states that Carlile will discuss “lessons she has learned when shifting from artist/songwriter to producer, tips, and tricks in the studio, what it takes to find “magic” in a process that can be very hard work for all involved, and the differences between producing her own music versus other artists’ work.” Fans will also have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A segment after the interview.
Carlile’s interview will be conducted by Dave Way, a renowned producer, engineer, and mixer. He has worked with Fiona Apple on her Grammy award-winning album, Fetch the Bolt Cutters and Extraordinary Machine, as well as with P!nk and many others in the industry.

In a 2020 Variety interview, the singer discussed the importance of having women take control in the studio to do the work as a producer or engineer. Carlile admits that she did not see the lack of representation until she had two daughters of her own. She reveals, “Once I had daughters and I started thinking about how many paths were actually open to them, it slowed my mind down — and I stayed as driven, but I started to gain a periphery.”
She continued, “And so I made a conscious decision when my kids were born to start gaining control in that realm myself, to start acknowledging and pushing people like Trina forward in a more deliberate way, and to really start thinking about it, so that it’s an option for my girls and for so many other girls.”
Apart from Carlile’s successful music career, she has also served as a producer and co-producer. She is associated with Lucius’ Second Nature, two albums by the Secret Sisters, Brandy Clark’s upcoming self-titled album, and two albums by Tanya Tucker.
The NAMM Convention promises to be an informative event for music lovers everywhere. Fans can register for the convention now. Carlile’s Grammy award-winning album, In These Silent Days, can be streamed on all major music platforms.
