Day stars as a man who has lost the ability to speak. After being kicked out of a mental facility, he has to figure out his next step in life. Then he is whisked away to a movie set as he looks just like the star.

The man then gets a new identity named Latte Pronto and becomes the center of Hollywood’s glamor. He has a whole team working behind him, going to movie premieres, and appearing on talk shows. Pronto is doing all of this mute. This film is a satire of the celebrity industry and how celebrities become what people want to see. It will hit theaters on May 12.

The film’s trailer came out on April 11. It starts with a dramatic clip of the main character in a mental hospital. This is before his humorous removal.

Next, he is seen wandering the streets for one second, then he appears at a movie studio. The clips after that are short little segments that display what a big movie career looks like. Everyone finds Latte Pronto to be hysterical. In a Mr. Bean-style characterization, Pronto is stumbling into every new opportunity. The trailer promises a lot of laughs, as well as an examination of what it means to be a famous actor.

Along with Day, Fool’s Paradise has a stacked cast. Fellow cast members include Ken Jeong (The Masked Singer), Ray Liotta (Cocaine Bear), Adrien Brody (Blonde), Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), Jason Bateman (Air), Edie Falco (Avatar: The Way of Water), Common (Alice), John Malkovich (Mindcage), Kate Beckinsale (Prisoner’s Daughter), and more. This film will be a posthumous release for Liotta, who died in May 2022. With this cast, this movie is certainly bringing star power.

Along with the trailer, the official poster came out on April 11. It displayed the A-list actors appearing in this film, with Day front and center, with only the top half of his face seen. He has a shocked expression, which is fitting based on the trailer. On the top of the poster are some of the big stars of this film with different close-ups, ranging from normal to chaotic. The poster also has the film’s tagline, “He’s ready for his close-up.”

Day is the star of this film and he also wrote and directed it, making it his directorial and feature film writing debut. Day got his break from the television series, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, for which he is also the creator, executive producer, and writer. In addition, Day has also dabbled in film acting. He was a star of Horrible Bosses and its sequel, as well as Fist Fight, where he was also an executive producer. Recently, Day was the voice of Luigi in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. He will now try to do well in front of and behind the camera.

Fool’s Paradise has been in production limbo for a while, being first titled El Tonto. The announcement of the film and its cast was released in 2018, with filming beginning in October. The film was on hold for a while due to Day’s commitments on IASIP, the pandemic, and the need for rewrites, among other reasons. Rewriting and reshoots were in December 2021. In addition, this past January, Lionsgate, and Roadside Attractions acquired the film to release.

Even though this film has been in the works for five years, the message still strikes a chord. The trailer demonstrates the hilarity of stardom that still rings true. Based on the trailer, this should be a film that makes audiences laugh as well as reflect on today’s culture.
