Kaytranada and Aminé Release New Information About Their Collaborative Album
Kaytranada and Aminé gave an official release date for their collaborative album, KAYTRAMINÉ, and revealed its track list, which features some impressive names.
On Tuesday, the two artists posted the album artwork with the caption, “summer officially begins may 19.” The cover art depicts the duo from above, sitting on neon pink lounge chairs in summer attire. While Kaytranada reclines, relaxing with sunglasses on and his shirt unbuttoned, Aminé is sitting cross-legged sporting a fishnet tank and flip flops, holding a glass of champagne up to the camera.
The post also includes the tracklist, creatively displayed in a photo similar to the cover art. The titles of each song on the album are dispersed among more lounge chairs, umbrellas, floaties, and lounging people seemingly soaking up the sun. Kaytranada and Aminé remain seated in the middle of the scene, holding up their hands to make the letters “K” and “A.”
The duo, dubbed Kaytraminé, is comprised of DJ and producer, Kaytranda, and Ethiopian-American rapper, Aminé. The album will hail the same name as the artists’ joint project and include 11 tracks. According to the track list, the album will also include features from Freddie Gibbs, Pharrell Williams, Big Sean, Amaarae, and Snoop Dogg.
Fans got a sneak peek at what the album has in store for them when Kaytraminé dropped their single “4EVA” last month. In addition to Kaytranada and Aminé, the track also featured Pharell Williams’ production.
The music video for “4EVA” has garnered over 2 million views, and the comments are filled with excitement from fans about this iconic musical team. The video is riddled with good vibes as the stars dance along to their song. At the end of the video, the single cuts out, and a new track starts as the screen turns to black and white. Although fans are not sure if this ending was teasing their new music on the album, people in the comments are desperate to hear more.
KAYTRAMINÉ is not the first time the stars have worked together. Before this collaboration, Katyranada and Aminé teamed up on songs such as “La Danse” and “YeYe.” Additionally, Amine is featured on Rejjie Snow’s 2018 album Dear Annie, which Kaytranada produced.
Based on the album art and their first single fans are in agreement that KAYTRAMINÉ will be the album of the summer.
