Kim Cattrall Is Back for the New Season of And Just Like That
Kim Cattrall, also known as Samantha Jones in Sex and the City, will be making an appearance in season two of the hit series reboot And Just Like That.
Cattrall agreed to film one scene in season two of And Just Like That under several conditions, according to sources who spoke with Page Six.
A SATC source expressed that even though she is returning to the series, it won’t be for long, “They still need her on the show. But even though this may get fans thinking she’ll be back for the next season, she’ll never do that. She was treated poorly.” Cattrall requested that she not be in any scenes with her former co-stars, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis. Cattrall also demanded that Director Michael Patrick King must be gone from the set when she was filming, as she felt she was not treated well during her time acting in Sex and the City.

Cattrall left fans confused when she chose not to continue her SATC legacy in the season one reboot. Cattrall has said the decision not to work on a third SATC movie was “an empowered decision in my life to end one chapter and start another,” according to BBC News.
During Cattrall’s interview with broadcaster Piers Morgan in 2017, the actress claimed that “SJP could have been nicer” about her choice not to return to SATC. The two co-stars endured a widely publicized falling-out that they never seemed to recover from fully. Not only was Cattrall upset with Parker, but she believed that she and her co-stars were not appropriately compensated for their work compared to the amount Parker was earning, say sources on Page Six.

On the Awards Chatter podcast, SJP shared her perspective on what the media has been calling a “catfight” between her and Cattrall. “We did not ask her to be part of this [And Just Like That] because she made it clear that that wasn’t something she wanted to pursue, and it no longer felt comfortable for us, and so it didn’t occur to us. That’s not ‘slamming’ her; it’s just learning,” Parker stated.
The back-and-forth commentary through media outlets from Cattrall and SJP only added fuel to their fire. In 2018, Cattrall’s family suffered the loss of her brother, and SJP’s condolences were not appreciated. SJP commented on Cattralls Instagram post, “Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Godspeed to your beloved brother. Xx,” which prompted Cattrall to respond angrily, “I don’t need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker.”
Despite their feud in the past, Cattrall and SJP, also known as Carrie Bradshaw and Samantha Jones, will reunite over the phone in this upcoming season.
Season two of And Just Like That premieres on June 22, be sure to watch the new trailer now.
