On June 5, Apple announced the new Apple Vision Pro will be available early in 2024. The product merges reality with the digital world.

In its Twitter announcement revealing its new product launch, Apple stated that “The era of spatial computing is here.”

According to the company’s website, Vision Pro follows the user’s eyes, hands, and voice to function. User’s phone apps, Safari, Notes, Messages, etc., pop up in the user’s real-time space and can switch between apps “seamlessly… with a glance.” Wherever the user is, their devices blend seamlessly with their real-world surroundings. With FaceTime, users can make their screen life-size right in front of their eyes, expanding to the size of their entire room.

Vision Pro acts as Apple's first 3D camera. Users can take spatial photos and videos in 3D with new Spatial Audio technology. Existing photos and videos will be scaled to the highest quality, and users' panoramas can wrap around them to mimic the exact moment they took the photo.

When approached by people or other surroundings in the real world, Vision Pro allows users to experience both the digital and the real world simultaneously.

The product uses three-dimensional laminated glass, lightly sealed to curve and fit the user’s face. Vision Pro wraps around the user’s head with a headband, which users can adjust to fit them perfectly. When plugged in, the product can be used all day. Using external battery support, it can be used for up to two hours.
