After the release of the original Barbie in 2006, the beloved doll never managed to disappear. The Malibu Barbie is a toy store staple, commonly referenced in media, and has been a part of many childhoods since its debut in the seventies. The café features a life-size Barbie box, referencing the classic fuchsia packaging in which fans can purchase the doll. Other highlights include a menu created by Chef Becky Brown featuring cocktails, such as the Think Pink Margarita, and eats like Pacific Paradise Pancakes. Fans can expect to leave the experience with plenty of Instagram-worthy photos and memories.
The café is expected to stay open until mid-September in New York City and Chicago. The event is open to all ages, and a 90-minute table reservation is included with ticket purchases. Visitors can expect to pay $17-$25 for kids and $34-$44 for adults depending on dates, granting them access to the entire café and an entree with a side item. Other perks include exclusive merchandise, roller skating, and additional food items, all available with purchase.
