Doja Cat’s New Single ‘Attention’ Drops Friday
Doja Cat reveals on Twitter that her upcoming single “Attention” will be released on Friday, June 16. Her new single is a glimpse into her edger style.
The “Say So” artist announced on Twitter and Instagram the date of her upcoming single: “6.16.23” with an emoji depicting a blood drop. In addition to the announcement of “Attention,” the cover photo of the album depicted a blood-splattered letter A upside down, showing Doja Cat’s versatility in her music and adding to her bold and edgy style.

Pop culture Twitter account Pop Crave posted about Doja Cat’s announcement Monday night on their Twitter. “A new pre-save link for Doja Cat’s new single, “Attention,” has surfaced. Reportedly dropping this Friday,” along with a link for fans to pre-save the song on Spotify and Apple Music. But later, it was taken down with the automatic message “We’re sorry this page no longer exists,” but seems to be up again after Doja’s reveal the next day. Despite this leak, fans are soon to see what’s in store for “Attention.”
Two weeks before the announcement, Doja Cat had been possibly dropping clues on what is to come in her upcoming single. On Twitter she wrote “scarlet was here,” along with “scarlet’s watching” and “let myself heal, finally sealed” being posted a few days after. All of her tweets ended with the infamous blood drop emoji, forming a possible connection between Doja’s tweets and her single “Attention.”

She continues to post a countdown until the single drops on Friday. Beginning with “6” and “5” on Monday, “4” Tuesday morning, and “3” on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday morning, the artist posted on her Instagram a small snippet of her single, as well as the music video, which will also drop on June 16. The visuals include screaming fans, paparazzi, and the artist walking city streets asking, “You looking?”
