Kim Petras to Kick off ‘Feed the Beast’ World Tour
Pop superstar Kim Petras announced that she will begin her world tour in August. Her 15-song full-length debut album, Feed the Beast, will be released on Friday.
The Grammy-winner will launch into her 34-date tour with a few festival appearances and radio shows before starting her US performances. The North American leg of the tour is set to round off in November. Petras will resume her tour in the UK and Europe come February.
Petras made history as the first transgender person to win a Grammy for best pop duet/group performance for her chart-topping song collaboration with Sam Smith, “Unholy.” Although Feed the Beast marks Petra’s first full-length album, the singer has already made her mark in the music world with her viral single “Coconuts” and her dynamic electro-pop EP “Slut Pop.”

Additionally, Petras released her lead single, “Alone,” earlier this spring as a teaser for her upcoming album. The dance-pop song features 90s-style beats and marks the artist’s first collaboration with Nicki Minaj, a long-time inspiration for Petras.
“I think I’ve tried to write songs for Nicki since I started getting good at writing,” Petras stated in an interview with USA Today. “It’s always been a big dream. She’s so inspirational as a lyricist, and she constantly pushes herself and always drops the freshest (music).”

Known for her witty humor and outrageous lyrics, the singer announced her tour with a hilarious trailer featuring Petras in a full suit of armor. The video shows Petras walking around New York dressed as a knight going about her daily routine: reading the newspaper, stopping by the bodega, and, of course, getting caught in a turnstile.
