New Release of Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things Trailer
Film Director Yorgos Lanthimos has made Emma Stone his new Frankenstein in the upcoming film, Poor Things.
Stone plays Bella Baxter, a woman brought back to life after being experimented on by the unconventional scientist, Dr. Godwin Baxter.
Belle Baxter is a strong-willed woman who adapts to her human body while realizing the ongoing prejudice surrounding her. “Her brain and body are not quite synchronized but she is progressing at an accelerated pace,” says the unhinged scientist in the newly released trailer.
Scenes of Dr. Godwin Baxter, played by Willem Dafoe, have been seen to parallel the work of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein through a new lens. In the early stages of Bella Baxter’s regeneration, she is seen hooked up for a shock treatment with sparks surrounding her head. This has been seen as an imitation of Shelley’s work, according to sources at The Hollywood Reporter.
She's like nothing you've ever seen.

This eerie yet whimsical trailer broadcasts Bella Baxter’s process of becoming a woman. Her lack of balance as she walks and uncontrollable facial expressions tell a story of where Bella Baxter started and how she has progressed throughout the film.
Stone plots her freedom in this feminist science fiction film, her character grows more independent which leads her to a lustful affair with Duncan Wedderburn, played by Mark Ruffalo
Stone’s remarkable performance creates an uncomfortable yet intriguing narrative.
