Ryan Seacrest will host Wheel of Fortune in 2024 after longtime host Pat Sajak announces his retirement from the show on June 12.

Seacrest has some big shoes to fill after Pat Sajak has been hosting the well-loved game show for almost 50 years.

Wheel of Fortune has announced on Twitter that Ryan Seacrest will be replacing Pat Sajak to host the show, “It’s official! Starting in 2024, Ryan Seacrest will take the stage as the new host of Wheel of Fortune. We’re so excited – Welcome, Ryan!”

However, watchers of the show don’t think that Seacrest should be the face of the show after seeing him in American Idol, American Top 40, and Live with Kelly and Mark, claiming that a fresh face is needed for the show. Others even suggested that co-host Vanna White should step up to host the show.

Despite these claims, Seacrest is thankful for the opportunity, hoping to learn from the retiring host as he is about to grow into the role next year.

He posted in a tweet this afternoon captioned, “Wheel of Fortune, I look forward to learning everything I can from you during this transition.” The star continues to say that it’s “truly a full circle moment” for him after hosting the Click game show for Merv Griffin 25 years ago.

Wheel of Fortune fans are sad to see Pat Sajak leave the show, the longtime host making them feel at ease with his warm presence on their screens.

Let’s look back at the memories Pat Sajak has given us of almost 50 years of Wheel of Fortune here as Ryan Seacrest begins to step into his role as host.
