A Complete Guide to the Barbie Movie’s Stunning Pink Carpet
The Barbie movie worldwide premiere inspired guests to dress their best for the glamorous pink carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Margot Robbie wore a custom strapless Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress, embellished with sequins and complimented with a red rose on the frill of the dress.
The 1960s Barbie “Solo in the Spotlight” inspired look was worn by none other than Barbie herself.
Robbie’s look was accessorized with black opera gloves, a multi-tiered diamond necklace, diamond earrings, black Manolo Blahnik peep-toe heels, and a pink silk mousseline scarf, designed by creative director Daniel Roseberry.
Ryan Gosling dressed in the spirit of Barbie, just as his character, Ken, would have preferred.
Gosling presented himself in a pastel-pink Gucci suit and wore a monogrammed “E” necklace in Barbie’s signature font. Sources indicate that Gosling’s subtle yet charming necklace was for his partner, Eva Mendes.
Issa Rae, who portrays President Barbie in the movie, wore a custom Barbie pink velvet dress with a keyhole cutout out and bow embellishment around her shoulders.
Alexandra Shipp attended the pink carpet in a dazzling Miu Miu gown that strayed from Barbie’s color palette, but was equally as glamorous.
Kate McKinnon, also known as Gymnast Barbie in the movie, wore a Barbie pink Kallmeyer vest and pant set with a pair of silver pumps.
Cast members Michael Cera and Kingsley Ben-Adir smiled for their snapshot on the pink carpet. Cera wore a burnt pastel pink suit which contrasted with Ben-Adir’s black and white suit.
Hari Nef dazzled the pink carpet wearing a CELINE couture gown with a subtle slit that complimented her dainty black heels.
Nicki Minaj attended the Barbie premiere pink carpet in a sheer ice blue Alaïa Fall/Winter 2023 set. Her outfit was from the brand’s spring 2023 collection, helmed by creative director Pieter Mulier. Minaj is one of many artists featured on the Barbie soundtrack with her song, “Barbie World.”
Billie Eilish made an appearance on the pink carpet in her own style, wearing an oversized pinstriped Gucci button-down and magenta tie, black Raf Simons shorts, and oversized ERL sneakers. Eilish recorded her song, “What Was I Made For?”, for the Barbie soundtrack.
