Halle Bailey is dropping her debut single “Angel” this Friday. In anticipation of the release, Bailey released a teaser of the song on social media.

Halle Bailey is no stranger to the music industry. Bailey and her sister Chloe Bailey formed the iconic R&B duo Chloe x Halle in 2016. The sisters released multiple albums, singles, EPs, and music videos together. Their single “Do It” landed them on the Billboard Hot 100 list in 2020 with the release of their Ungodly Hour album.

Bailey has also made quite the name for herself, starring as Ariel in Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid. The film did incredibly well and even surpassed the original film in box office numbers. Bailey is credited in the film’s soundtrack and she is featured in classic songs, such as “Part of Your World” and new favorites like “For the First Time.” Bailey’s performance in the film was widely renowned as heartfelt and spectacular. Her melodic voice was a perfect fit for the classic mermaid princess.

Fans of Bailey’s music are thrilled to be hearing more of her voice so soon. Prior to The Little Mermaid‘s release in 2023, Bailey hadn’t released any new music since 2020 with Chloe x Halle. Her fans have been eager to get ahold of new songs.

Her debut single “Angel” is set to be released this Friday, and fans have already taken to social media to express their excitement.

In anticipation of the release, Bailey released a teaser of the song on her Twitter. The teaser features Bailey at all ages. It opens with a clip of a young Bailey opening a present, voiced over clips and photos of her performing. While short, the teaser packs a powerful emotional weight. The background piano music is poignant and soft. Paired with the intimately sentimental photos of young Halle Bailey, the overall tone is ethereal and nostalgic.

While the clip is only 22 seconds long, it manages to deliver a powerful and emotional impact to its audience. With just the teaser being so incredible, fans are even more excited about the release of “Angel.”

While fans eagerly await the song’s release on Friday, “Angel” is available to be pre-saved on Bailey’s website.
