Anitta Teases New Project Release

Anitta took to social media on August 1 to tease a new release. Her post featured the words “A FAVELA LOVE STORY” below the title “Funk Generation.” The caption claims that the project will be revealed later in the month.

Though no further details have been released, “Funk Generation” may tie into Anitta’s recent single “Funk Rave.” The artist is very passionate about Brazilian funk, and she hopes to share it with an international audience.
In an interview with Variety, Anitta stated: “I think Brazillian funk is opening its room right now and I want to show more about where this was born and it’s my culture, my community, my place so I feel happy to have this in hands with Republic.”

The artist confirmed her upcoming music will be inspired by Brazilian funk at the 66th Grammy Awards. She was nominated for Best New Artist at the awards ceremony. The nomination confirmed Anitta’s international influence and impact on the music industry. Additionally, she was the first Brazilian artist nominated for a Grammy in nearly 50 years.
The singer also speaks out on LGBTQ+ and women’s rights issues.
