Will Byers to Become Main Focus in Stranger Things Season 5
Stranger Things creators, The Duffer Brothers, announced Noah Schnapp’s character, Will Byers, will take “center stage” in upcoming fifth season.
Since its release on Netflix in 2016, Stranger Things has been well loved by fans. Every new season has landed on Netflix’s “Top TV Shows in the U.S.” However, due to the Writer’s Guild strike, production will be delayed. This has left fans torn up after season four’s events.

Although Stranger Things fans are saddened by the delay, they are supportive of the creators’ decision to halt production in May.

In an interview with Variety, the Duffer Brothers shared what fans can expect in the final season. “Will really takes center stage again in 5,” Ross Duffer states. “This emotional arc for him is what we feel is going to hopefully tie the whole series together. Will is used to being the young one, the introverted one, the one that’s being protected. So part of his journey, it’s not just sexuality — it’s Will coming into his own as a young man.”
Will Byers has been a huge player in the Stranger Things franchise since his disappearance into the Upside Down in season one. Will stood alongside his friends Eleven (El), Mike, Lucas, and Dustin when facing what evil came their way in the series.
Byers has been on the back burner for most of the storyline, recovering from his time in the Upside Down and serving as more of a support system for his friends.
Towards the end of season 4, Will got goosebumps on his neck and covered it with his hand to make himself feel safe. He is the first to turn and see a storm coming up in the sky, with snow falling, indicating that he has a huge role to play in season 5.
We can only look forward to what the Duffer Brothers have in store for one of the series’ fan favorites, Will Byers. Schnapp’s character has already gone through a lot of changes and growth and it has been confirmed that he will have a big role in the new season.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the series’ return and what surprises it will bring. The much-anticipated fifth season of Stranger Things is set to be released soon. It will be exciting to see how the storyline has developed for Will. In the meantime, all four seasons are available to stream on Netflix.
