Elon Musk Contemplates Surgery Before Startling Encounter With Zuckerberg
With the ongoing narrative between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, Musk revealed the possibility of requiring surgery prior to his fight against Zuckerberg.
These two prominent figures in the tech industry agreed to a face-to-face encounter. While the likelihood of a physical altercation remains uncertain, Musk and Zuckerberg successfully piqued the public’s interest through their online exchange of taunts.
Adding to the intrigue, Musk made a splash by announcing that the fight would be live-streamed on his X social media platform, previously known as Twitter. Moreover, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX disclosed that the proceeds from this event would be directed towards a charitable cause benefiting veterans.
Not to be overshadowed, Zuckerberg responded on his Threads account, raising concerns about the appropriateness of the chosen platform for fundraising.
In a subsequent post, the CEO of Meta, Facebook’s parent company, expressed skepticism about the fight’s occurrence, indicating his guarded optimism: “I’m ready today. I suggested Aug 26 when he first challenged, but he hasn’t confirmed.”
Zuckerberg has a background in mixed martial arts and recently participated in his first jiu-jitsu tournament.
He continued in the Thread, “I love this sport and will continue competing with people who train no matter what happens here.”
Musk, meanwhile, gave an update on his preparations for the contest, revealing that he had taken up weightlifting as part of his training regime. However, he spoke of the uncertainty surrounding the fight schedule, citing a scheduled MRI and the potential need for surgery.
“I’m getting an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow,” Musk disclosed on Sunday evening. “May require surgery before the fight can happen. Will know this week.”

The origin of the in-person fight conversation traces back to June when Musk responded to a Tweet discussing Meta’s intentions to introduce a new competitor to Twitter. This platform soon came to be known as Threads.
He remarked that the world was gradually becoming “exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options.” In a playful exchange, a Twitter user playfully warned Musk about Zuckerberg’s jiu-jitsu skills.
“I’m up for a cage match if he is lol,” Musk replied. Subsequently, when Zuckerberg accepted the challenge, Musk proposed the Las Vegas Octagon as the venue for their battle.

The prospect of Musk and Zuckerberg meeting in the Las Vegas ring remains uncertain, partly due to Musk’s tendency to prematurely Tweet about actions that may not come to fruition. Nevertheless, even if their cage match remains a light-hearted jest, the ensuing buzz has undeniably seized public attention. A plethora of memes and messages, enabling individuals to side with one of the tech CEOs, emerged in response to this showdown.
