A day after Bongos dropped, The VMAS announced that Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are set to perform at the VMAS 2023, which will be their first time performing at the VMA stage together. This already includes a performers lineup of Karol G, Doja Cat, Peso Pluma, Demi Lovato, Fall Out Boy, Tomorrow x Together, Shakira, Anitta, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Wayne, Metro Boomin, and many more at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center.

This is Megan’s first feature since her album, Traumazine, in 2022. This past year, Megan announced she was taking a break from music due to the public trial against Tory Lanez.

As “Bongos” continues to climb the charts, Cardi B joins Ebro in the Morning to discuss her new single featuring Megan.

“If you hear the beat, you would think there is a certain direction to go with this song..like Spanish, but I hear Megan. She’s my work wife,” she continued. “It was a challenge for her because it was a very different beat, and it was a challenge for me too.”

Not only are fans dancing to the song, but many are gasping away at the radiant visuals, choreography, and Latin-inspired rhythm.

Cardi B has been on the charts since her last album in 2018, Invasion of Privacy, which won Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards. Recent collaborations, including “Point Me 2” with FendiDa Rappa, “Put it On the Floor” with Latto, and “Jealousy” with Offset, have reached top charts, and there’s speculation for a new album soon.

“I have a date in mind…. It’s not coming around my birthday, which is October 11, adding, “Matter of fact, I don’t want nothing coming around October because October is my month. I don’t want no sh*t related to work.”

The song was released on September 8 and can be heard on all streaming platforms.
