Caroline Polachek Unveils New Reissued Ramona Lisa Arcadia Album
Caroline Polachek is bringing back a memorable solo project. The “Sunset” singer unveiled a fresh new look at Ramona Lisa – Arcadia, her debut record.
In 2014, Caroline Polachek released her debut, Ramona Lisa – Arcadia. Since then, the singer has gone on to release two albums: Pang (2019) and Desire, I Want to Turn Into You (2023).
Polachek took to Instagram to share the exciting news of the reissue. She writes, “Ramona Lisa was a semi-secret solo project of mine, released in 2014 and active for exactly one year. I made this album alone in headphones, using only MIDI instruments and the internal laptop mic.”
She elaborates, “Arcadia is pastoral electronic music; it’s DNA full of doo-wop & yé-yé, glitchy organs, and synthetic cicadas. It was also a goodbye to my girlhood and perhaps a hello to who I became next.”
To celebrate the occasion, Polachek unveiled a teal-smoke vinyl, with a double-sided poster. Although that stunning shaded vinyl quickly sold out, the singer revealed that there is more where that came from. Polachek offered fans a classic black LP edition, as well as a lovely sea-blue variant color, that is currently available in indie stores.
Polachek has been busy these days. The musician released Desire, I Want to Turn Into You on Valentine’s Day. Upon the release of her new album, she embarked on “The Spiraling Tour.”
More recently, Polachek joined the one and only Lorde to perform a rendition of “Green Light.” The song served as a single to Lorde’s critically acclaimed Melodrama, released in 2017.
Congratulations to Caroline Polachek on her newly-released Ramona Lisa – Arcadia record. Fans can pick up their copies now at select indie stores.
