Bad Bunny Gets Personal in Latest Interview
Bad Bunny spoke with Vanity Fair, giving an in-depth interview with the Puerto Rican’s past, present, and future.
Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, a.k.a Bad Bunny, was featured in Vanity Fair, giving fans a glimpse into his life and music. The interviewer, Michelle Ruiz, asked him insightful questions during his spontaneous trip to Puerto Rico, revealing updates about a new album, social media, and private life.
Although the artist was shy when discussing his new album, he gave fans a peak into what the new album entails. What inspired Bad Bunny’s latest album was the music from the 70s, experimenting with different moods. In addition, what sets this album apart from his last one, Un Verano Sin Ti, is that this one is more personal, striving to create something new.
Throughout his solo career, Bad Bunny has included diverse Latin genres in his songs. Although his fame has extended globally, he does not compromise his native Spanish language. This is why the singer is known as the reverse crossover artist. Bad Bunny invites non-Spanish speakers to understand his music. However, he will only sing in English when the right song or collaborator comes along.
Furthermore, Bad Bunny discussed performing for the Grammys, where Ruiz described it as “filled with Latin joy & pride.” However, the performer himself mentions how he was upset the award show did not translate his performance correctly. He states, “I sing for those who want to listen to me and those who understand me.” In addition, after not winning Album of the Year, Bad Bunny said he had mixed feelings following the Grammys due to the media’s influence.
Speaking of social media. After rumors spiraled regarding his personal relationship with the Kardashian sister, Kendall Jenner, Vanity Fair asked the singer’s surrounding audience’s reaction. Bad Bunny does not confirm or deny the rumor but addresses how the behavior of his fans can sometimes cross a line. He is adamant about keeping his private life private, not needing to “clarify anything to anyone” who is not in his close circle.
Vanity Fair provided audiences with a considerate deep dive into Benito’s life, better understanding the artist’s journey and perspective with respect to his boundaries. This definitely won’t be the last we hear from the artist since fans can expect new music coming soon. In the meantime, fans can check out the Vanity Fair piece here.
